Background

CMRI was established with the objective of conducting and proposing implementable solutions for the Ministry in field of open waterways management (e.g. design, rehabilitation, maintenance and aquatic weed management) to achieve water saving and quality preservation. CMRI is one of the leading institutions in Egypt that is designing and maintaining open waterways and is also one of the pioneers for biological management of aquatic weeds using the herbivorous fish, grass carp.
